PORTSMOUTH, VA--ODU rising junior Eric Onesi (Bear, DE.) shot a 72 in the third round whichdropped him to third place after 54 holes of the Eastern Amateur Championship at Portsmouth'sElizabeth Manor Country Club Saturday. Onesi currently has a 199 going into Sunday's final round.
Onesi, a two-time All-CAA selection is three strokes behind leader Jude Eustaquio of the Phillipines who shot a 66 on Saturday and has a 196 score. JMU's Scott Morino along with Roger Newsome are tiedfor second at 198.
Monarch teammate John Murphy (Wilton, CT.) shot a 68 Saturday for a 204 and recent graduate Stan Guerrero (Mexico) , a three-time All-CAA selection, and ODU Alumni Association's Male Athlete of the Year is at 211.
