RICHMOND, Va. -- Freshman swimmer April Barrientos (Va. Beach, Va.) was named All-CAA for her performance in the 100 back at the conference championships it was announced Thursday by the Colonial Athletic Association.
On day three of competition at the CAA Championships, Barrientos placed second in the 100 back as she hit the wall in a time of 57.18.
Barrientos is the Old Dominion record holder in the event. She reset the school record twice in the 100 backstroke, stopping the clock in 56.62 seconds against William & Mary, topping her previous school record by 0.41 seconds set at the Davidison Invitational.
