Newport News, Va. - Old Dominion University freshman Nadine Fahoum was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Co-Rookie of the Year in women's tennis the league announced today, an honor shared by VCU's Kateryna Yergina. Fahoum is the first ODU player to earn CAA Rookie of the Year honors since current Lady Monarch assistant coach Nataly Cahana did it in 2001. Joining Fahoum on the all-conference team were fellow Lady Monarchs Charleen Haarhoff and Joanna Dobrowolska.

A first team selection in doubles and a second team honoree in singles, Fahoum quickly established herself as one of the Lady Monarchs top players after joining the team in January. She opened the spring season with 11 consecutive victories and eventually finished the regular season 20-2 overall, 11-1 at the No. 2 position. In doubles action she teamed up with Haarhoff to post a 13-5 record at No. 1 doubles.
In addition to her first team selection in doubles where she teamed with Fahoum, Haarhoff was also a first team All-CAA honoree in singles. After earning second team honors in doubles and singles in 2007, Haarhoff played at the No. 1 spot for ODU all season, registering a mark of 13-7 at the position.
Dobrowolska was named to the All-CAA third team for her singles play where she was 17-5 overall, playing primarily at No. 3.
William & Mary senior Megan Moulton-Levy was selected as the 2008 CAA Women's Tennis Player of the Year for the fourth straight season, while William & Mary's Kevin Epley was honored as the CAA Coach of the Year.
