NORFOLK, Va. -- The Lady Monarchs dropped their third straight game of the season in the third straight game against a nationally ranked opponent as CAA rival and 19th ranked James Madison won 13-5. The Dukes improved to 5-6 on the season including a 1-1 mark in CAA action while ODU slips to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference. Sophomore Ashley Kellogg notched her second hat trick of the season as she scored three goals on nine shots, seven on-net. Senior Kelly Kimener had the other two goals for Old Dominion.

James Madison controlled the start of the game, scoring the first six goals, but the Lady Monarchs would rebound and score four of the next five to cut the lead to three at 7-4 with 28:56 remaining in the game. Two of the Lady Monarchs goals were scored in the final 30 seconds of the first half as Kellogg grabbed her second and third goals of the game in the waning seconds of the frame.

Just over a minute into the second, Kimener would get the Lady Monarchs within three with an unassisted score, her eighth of the season. However, the Dukes would close the game on a 6-1 run, including a goal with less than one second remaining in the game from Janice Wagner, her first of the season.

James Madison got four goals from Emily Haller on four shots and three more players scored three for the Dukes. Julie Stone had two goals and an assist, Jaime Dardine had one goal and two assists and Natasha Fuchs had three assists in the game. The Dukes scored 13 goals from nine different players.

ODU forced JMU to turn the ball over 20 times, matching a season high for an opponent against Old Dominion, but Old Dominion could not convert the turnovers into scores as they were a season-low 10-of-19 on clear attempts.

ODU scooped more groundballs than the Dukes, 12-8, and committed fewer fouls, 15-12. James Madison edged ODU in shots, 26-21, draw controls, 12-8, and saves, 12-9.

The Lady Monarchs hit the road for a two-game swing against Hofstra on April 11 with start time set for 7:00 p.m. and against Drexel at noon on Sunday, April 13.
