RICHMOND, VA-- The University of Richmond, led by Billy Barber poundedout 15 hits and three homers to defeat Old Dominion, 15-9 Wednesday afternoon.The Monarchs are now 10-9, and Richmond is 8-11-1.

David Burns (Jacksonville, FL.), Jake McAloose (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Bryan Cipolla (Plainview, NY).led the Monarchs with two hits each. Cipolla knocked in two runs and Burns drove in four.

In the ODU six-run third, Cipolla singled home McAloose and ChrisKeenan (Chesapeake, VA.). With Max Most, Cipolla and Anthony Shawler (Chesapeake, Va.), aboard, Burns hit a grand slam homer to give ODU a 6-3 lead. It was Burns'Fifth homer of the year.

In the sixth Chris Keenan's plated Burns on a fielder's choice, and JimmyMiles singled to score Chris Buss (Rosemont, MN.). ODU scored in the ninth when pinch hitter Chris Baker (Chesapeake, VA. )singled home Cipolla.

Barber slammed two homers and knocked in five runs on the day. He hita two-run shot in the third inning and Mike Mergenthaler followed with anothertwo-run homer. Barber then slammed a three-run shot in the fifth.

ODU returns to CAA action this weekend for a three-game series with JamesMadison beginning Friday at 7 p.m.
