WILLIAMSBURG, VA--Robbie Nickle's two-out double in the seventh platedtwo runs to lead William and Mary (13-4/5-2) to a 7-6 CAA victory over OldDominion (10-5/3-1) and ending the Monarchs six game winning streak.
ODU took a 6-0 lead in the first five innings. Chris Keenan doubled home JimmyMiles in the third for the first run. In the Jake McAloose reached on an error whichplated David Burns and Anthony Shawler scored on a double play to make it 3-0.
In the fifth inning Shawler singled home Keenan and Miles and Jake McAlooseknocked home Bryan Cipolla.
The Tribe scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth highlighted by a lead off homerby Greg Miliniak and RBI hits from Tyler Stampone, and Tim Park. In the seventh,Ben Guez doubled and Mike Sheridan walked which set up Nickle's game winning double.
ODU threated with the bases loaded in the top of the ninth, as Cipolla and Keenan walked and pinchhitter Gerard Hall reached on a bunt sinlge,but Tribe reliever Sean Grieve got a lineout double play and a groundout to end the game for his third save of the year.
Jimmy Miles, Chris Keenan, Anthony Shawler and Max Most each had twohits for ODU. Shawler and McAloose each knocked in two runs.
Greg Maliniak and Jeff Jones each had two hits for the Tribe and Robbie Nickleknocked in two runs. The two teams play Saturday at 2p.m. in W&M's PlumeriPark.
