RICHMOND, Va. - The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) has honored four a pair of Old Dominion swimmers/divers for their performance last week. The Monarch's Noah Scully (Va. Beach, Va.) has been named CAA Men's Diver of the Week for the fourth time this season and freshman April Barrientos (Va. Beach, Va.) has been named CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week.
Scully, a senior from Virginia Beach, Va., swept the diving events against William & Mary. The senior won the 3-meter board with a score of 332.25, his top score of the year and the fourth-best in the CAA this season. He posted a 333.68 on the 1-meter board, less than one point from his season and CAA best.
Barrientos, a freshman from Virginia Beach, Va., reset the school record in the 100 backstroke, stopping the clock in 56.62 seconds. This topped her previous school record by 0.41 seconds and is the fastest time in the 100 backstroke in the CAA this season.
The Old Dominion men's and women's swimming and diving squads return to the pool at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Swimming and Diving Championships to be held on the campus of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Competition begins on Wednesday, February 27th and will continue through Saturday, March 1st.
