ABOUT THE LADY MONARCHS:The No. 11/11 Lady Monarchs are winners in their last 18 contests and in 21 of their last 22 games. Old Dominion is coming off 66-51 victory over Drexel Sunday afternoon. Junior Tiffany Green led the Lady Monarchs with 12 points as one of three in double figures. Both seniors Megan Pym and T.J. Jordan notched 10 apiece. Pym also set a new career steal mark with seven. Jordan, who went 3-of-6 from downtown, tied the CAA record for career three-pointers made with her third and final three at the 2:59 mark of the second half. The senior guard tied Julie Jones (Richmond - 1988-92) for the record with 309 career treys under her belt. Jordan continues to lead the squad at 13.8 points per game and is followed by sophomore Jessica Canady, who comes off the bench to average 10.7 points per contest. Green rounds out the trio of Lady Monarchs in double figures at 10.6 points per game. Pym continues leads the Lady Monarchs on the glass at 7.6 rebounds per game.
ABOUT GEORGE MASON:The Patriots enter the Ted Constant Convocation Center Thursday night with a 9-17 overall mark and 3-12 CAA mark and looking to snap a four-game losing streak. George Mason is led by senior guard Lateisha Wade, who is averaging 13.9 points along with a team second-best 4.3 rebounds per game. Second in scoring is senior forward Moni Akintunde at 6.2 points per contest while leading the Patriots in rebounding at 5.9 boards per game.

SERIES WITH GEORGE MASON:The Patriots are one of five CAA teams that have yet to defeat the Lady Monarchs. Old Dominion owns a 42-0 record against George Mason, which included a 71-61 victory at the Patriot Center in the first meeting.
LAST TIME VS. GEORGE MASON: It wasn't a pretty second half, but the No. 13/14 Old Dominion Lady Monarchs continued its win streak with a 71-61 victory over George Mason at the Patriot Center back on February 7th. Old Dominion, which held a 39-20 lead at halftime, was outscored by George Mason, 41-32, in the second half. The Patriots held the Lady Monarchs without a field goal over the final 5:16, with Old Dominion getting four points from the free throw line in the final 43 seconds of the game for the final margin. The Lady Monarchs had as much as a 22-point edge with 5:16 left, but the Patriots, behind a blistering 61.5 field goal percentage (16-of-26), closed the gap to single digits. The Patriots' 22-point deficit was reduced to just nine points when George Mason produced a 14-0 run, which was only halted by Old Dominion's free throws in the final seconds of the game. The Lady Monarchs were clinging to a 67-59 with :48 left on the clock. Junior Tiffany Green went 4-of-7 from the line to stop the drought. Old Dominion was led by seniors Megan Pym and T.J. Jordan with 14 points apiece. Pym, who tied her career-high with her 14 points, led the Lady Monarch rebounding effort with nine board. Green added in 12, while junior Jazzmin Walters contributed 11. Walters cracked the top 10 Old Dominion junior assist list. With six dishes against the Patriots, Walters moved right into seventh place on the list with 107 assists to her name in the 2007-08 season. George Mason's Lateisha Wade led all scorers with 18-points. She also hauled in 11 rebounds for her first career double-double. Jessica Smith poured in all her 12 points in the second half, and Casey Quigley came off the bench to net 11. The Lady Monarchs improved to 19-3 overall and 10-0 in the CAA. In terms of streaks, Old Dominion won its 13th straight contest and last 22nd meetings with CAA opponents. The Patriots meanwhile drop its third straight game, falling to 8-13 overall and 2-8 in the conference.
IT'S A CLINCHER:Should the Old Dominion Lady Monarchs prevail against George Mason on Thursday night, the squad will have clinched the 2008 CAA regular season title and the top seed at the upcoming CAA Tournament. The Lady Monarchs have been the No. 1 seed at the CAA Tournament 13 times in the last 16 years.
CAA STREAK:Old Dominion has won its last 26 straight CAA contests. The Lady Monarchs last loss in league play was a 79-50 against James Madison in Harrisonburg on February 1, 2007.
UNDEFEATED - AT HOME:Old Dominion is currently 12-0 at home and finished non-conference play at 5-0 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
HOME COURT STREAK:The Lady Monarchs have won a nation-leading 22 straight home contests dating back to the Dec. 20, 2006, 72-55, victory over national runner-up Rutgers. ODU's last loss at the Ted Constant Convocation Center was against national champion Tennessee, 59-75, back on Dec. 22, 2006.
CAA HOME COURT STREAK: The Lady Monarchs have won 33 straight home CAA contests dating back to the January 14, 2005, 78-59, victory over Virginia Commonwealth. ODU's last conference loss at the Ted Constant Convocation Center was against Delaware, 70-73, on January 9, 2005. Old Dominion holds a 153-2 home CAA mark.
HELLO TOP 10 - AP:The Lady Monarchs returned to the Top Ten of the Associated Press Poll for the first time since the end of the 1999 season last week when Old Dominion appeared in the poll at No. 10. Old Dominion, who started the season unranked, returned to the Top 25 in the AP for week four following their upset victory over Michigan State on December 2. Old Dominion was ranked at No. 24 and made its first appearance in the AP Poll since the final poll of the 2002 season when the Lady Monarchs finished 15th and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. This week the Lady Monarchs fell back a spot to No. 11 despite picking up wins over third-place teams Virginia Commonwealth and Drexel.
HELLO TOP 25 - ESPN/USA TODAY:The Lady Monarchs cracked the Top 25 of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll during week seven coming at No. 23 following SEC road wins at Kentucky and Vanderbilt. It is the Lady Monarchs first appearance in the Coaches' Poll since the second week of the 2002-03 season. This week, the Lady Monarchs jumped two positions to No. 12.
WHAT'S REMAINING:Three games are left in the Lady Monarchs' regular season, including a meeting with second place James Madison on Sunday and the regular season finale against Hofstra next Thursday before heading off to the Bob Carpenter Center for the 2008 CAA Women's Basketball Tournament in search of conference title number 17.
ANOTHER THREE POINT RECORD:T.J. Jordan grows ever closer to breaking the CAA's all-time three-point field goals record. Jordan connected on 3-of-6 from the arc against Drexel in a 66-51 victory to bring her career three-point field goal total to 309 to tie the record set by Julie Jones from former CAA member Richmond (1988-92). Jordan, who along with Jones and Drexel's Narrisa Suber, are the only members of the CAA to hit 300 or more three-pointers in a career.
ANOTHER 500 VICTORY MILESTONE:Old Dominion head coach Wendy Larry is just four wins away from her 500th win at the helm of the Lady Monarch program. To date, Larry has captured a 496-163 mark in 21 seasons as the head coach of the Lady Monarch. Larry reached her 500th career win last season against Chicago State and has a 545-194 overall mark in 24 seasons as the leader of the Old Dominion, Arizona State, and Virginia Wesleyan programs.
CRACKING A TOP TEN: Junior Jazzmin Walters cracked the the top ten junior assist list at Old Dominion on February 7th in the Lady Monarchs' 71-61 win at George Mason. Walters, who entered the game needing two assists to crack the list, dished out six assists against the Patriots and vaulted immediately into seventh place. Walters now stands at second on the list with 138 assists to her name in the 2007-08 season with only ODU legends Nancy Lieberman and Ticha Penicheiro ahead of her on the list.
PASSING A LEGEND:Senior T.J. Jordan has moved up six spots on the ODU all-time scoring list since the beginning of the season. Jordan has already surpassed current WNBA Sacramento Monarch Ticha Penicheiro and two-time CAA Player of the Year and 2002 WNBA draftee Lucienne Berthieu on the all-time list. Jordan currently has 1,440 career points and sits in 16th on the all-time list.
