NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion wrestling team will take the mats a little earlier than scheduled this weekend, as the match times have been moved up on Sunday, February 3. ODU will face CAA rival George Mason at 11:00 AM in Fairfax, Virginia and will travel to Washington, D.C. to match up against American at 2:00 PM.
The Monarchs will be looking to improve on their 13-3 record this season as they've won seven of their last eight duals. ODU is led by redshirt sophomore Kaylen Baxter at 149 lbs with 34 victories. He is leading the nation in wins this season. He is followed by junior #17 Ryan Williams with 32 wins, the second highest total in the nation.
The Monarchs will face the Patriots, who have tallied a 9-3 overall mark and a 5-2 record in CAA action. They will then travel to American for the Eagles final home dual of the season. Senior #1 ranked Josh Glenn and the Eagles have notched a 3-10 overall record this season. American boasts two nationally ranked wrestlers in their starting lineup, while the Patriots boast one, freshman Cayle Byers (#17 at 197 lbs).
