RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -Kevin Anderson scored all 10 of his points in the second half and Richmond hit 6 of 10 free throws in the final 53 seconds to hold off Old Dominion 55-49 Wednesday.

The Monarchs (6-5) lost for the sixth straight time at the Robins Center. The Spiders (5-6) snapped a two-game losing streak.

After the Monarchs tied the game at 17 with 7:13 remaining in the first half, Richmond outscored them 7-2 the rest of the half.

In the second half, the Monarchs pulled to 24-22 following a 3-pointer by Darius James. Gaston Moliva's layup snapped a 5:36 span without a point and gave the Spiders a 26-22 lead.

The Monarchs tied the game again at 33 with 9:25 remaining. Richmond took the lead for good on Anderson's layup with 8:41 left. Anderson scored five during an 8-2 run that left the Spiders ahead 41-35 with six minutes to go. Old Dominion could get no closer than three.

Dan Geriot led Richmond with 13 points. The Spiders hit 10 of 15 field goals in the second half and finished at 50 percent. The Monarchs were 10-of-30 in the second half and finished the game at 34 percent.

James and Brandon Johnson each had 12 for the Monarchs.

For James it was a career high. Johnson also led ODUwith four assists and three steals.

ODU returns to action Friday night at Winthrop.
