LAS VEGAS, NV--ODU Sophomore forward Gerald Lee scored a game high tying and career high 20 points and hauled down eight rebounds, but the Monarchs came up short against sixthRanked Louisville, 64-53 in the third place game of the Findlay-Toyota Las Vegas Classic. Terrance Williams led the Cardinals with 20 points on the night.

ODU led at halftime, 28-27 and by five, 3631 with 17:21 left in the game after a Leebasket. Louisville came back to tied the game on Williams layup at 36 with 16:34 left.

After two Brian Henderson free throws, ODU led 38-36 with 16:13 remaining and keptThe lead until 14:33 left on a tip-in by Louisville's Derrick Caracter to make it 39-38.The Cardinals kept the lead the rest of the way. Louisville started the game with a 10-0 lead before ODU freshman guardDarius James scored the Monarchs first basket with 13:19 left. ODU thengot it in gear and eventually tied the game at 26 on a three-pointer byAbdi Lidonde with 1:34 left.Lidonde then stole the ball and scored on alayup to put the Monarchs up 28-26 with 1:14 to go in the half.

Brian Henderson scored 14 for ODU, while Sam Harris and Benn Finney each pulledDown six rebounds. ODU shot .339 (19-56) from the floor, while Louisville hit .455(25-55) for the game. For the second straight night ODU outrebounded the its opponent, this time 43-40. Earl Clark led Louisville with 15 boards. ODU committed14 turnovers, but only four in the second half, while Louisville committed 15 for the game.

The Monarchs will play their third straight top ten team on Wednesday when they hostFifth ranked Georgetown Wednesday at the Constant Center at 7 p.m.
