PHILADELPHIA, PA--The co-leaders of the Colonial Athletic Association, Old Dominion (10-6-2/ 7-2-1) and Drexel (10-4-3/7-2-1) battled each other for 110 minutes of soccer and after a 0-0 tie both are still even up atop the league standings. This was ODU's fifth double-overtime match of the season.
ODU out shot the Dragons, 10-8 including three shots on goal. Drexel's keeper Cory Robertson and the Monarchs Evan Newton registered the shutouts. In the final two minutes of regulation, ODU had a couple of chances by A.J. Kulp and Yomby William but Robertson made the saves. Stig Haddal had a shot on goal in the first half.
The Monarchs travel to William and Mary Thursday night for a 7 p.m. regularseason finale.
