NEWARK, DE--Sobhan Tadjalli's and Steve Cavalier each scored goals tolift the Blue Hen's of the University of Delaware (3-11-2/ 3-5-1) to a 2-0 victory over the CAA leading Monarchs of Old Dominion (10-6-1/-2) Friday night. The loss drops ODUinto a tie for the top spot with Drexel who defeated William and Mary earlier today.
Tadjalli retrieved a deflection and pumped it in from 20 yards out to giveDelaware a 1-0 lead in the first half. In the second half after a foul in the box, Delaware's Steve Cavalier scored with eight minutes left in the match on a penalty kick.
ODU outshot Delaware, 15-8, but Blue Hen's goalkeeper Conrad Rusnak came upwith ten saves including seven the first half and the shutout.
ODU travels to Philadelphia to take on Drexel Sunday at 1 p.m.
