Sam Harris Logs 18 Points, 11 Boards In Annual Blue-White Game

NORFOLK, Va. -- Senior Sam Harris (Newnham, Tasmania, Australia) notched a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead all Monarchs in the annual Blue-White Game Sunday afternoon at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

The squad of seniors Harris and Abdi Lidonde (Sutton, Mass.), rookies Ben Finney (Portsmouth, Va.), Darius James (Va. Beach, Va.), Keyon Carter (Riviera Beach, Fla.) and sophomore Marsharee Neely (Greensboro, N.C.) posted a 34-25 victory of their teammates in the first half of action, while Finney, James, Harris, sophomore Gerald Lee(Uusikaupunki, Finland), senior Brian Henderson (Richmond, Va.), and freshman Kent Bazemore (Windsor, N.C.) outscored their teammates, 44-19, in the second half.

Lidonde combined for 13 points playing for both teams. The senior guard went a total of 4-of-8 from three-point range, including a 3-of-4 effort in the first half.

Sophomore Gerald Lee (Uusikaupunki, Finland) combined for 14 points, while Henderson contributed 12 on the afternoon, and Finney made his Monarch debut adding in 11 points.

Another Monarch newcomer, James, along with veteran Henderson dished out six assists apiece.

The Old Dominion men's basketball team returns to action on Wednesday, October 31st against Mount Olive at 6:00 p.m. in exhibition action.
