Norfolk, Va. - The ODU men's tennis team had a strong showing during the second day of the Hampton Roads Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, sending two individuals and a doubles team to Sunday's finals.
In A1 singles play, Alex Seleznev defeated Nick Savage-Pollack of UMBC 6-1, 6-1 and Delaware's Austin Longacre 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinals to advance to the championship bracket.
Fellow Monarch senior Eidy Igarashi moved on the A2 singles championship with two straight set victories over George Washington's Sam Salyer, 7-6 (1), 6-1 and Delaware's Nolan Greenberg, 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles action the team of Seleznev and Igarashi edged the duo from UMBC, 9-8 (2) in the semifinals of the A bracket to advance to the championship where they'll face teammates Dan Couzens and Rodrigo Souza.
