ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Old Dominion sailing team finished 11th overall at the Navy Fall Regatta this weekend, with 854 total points in four divisions. Sophomore John Shockey finished with a sixth place finish in D division.

All four divisions were able to complete 20 races. Shockey's 6th place effort paced the teams 11th place finish. He never finished outside the top twelve boats in the 20 races and won the final race of the regatta. He was among the top ten boats in 13 races and finished with 141 points, just 8 out of the top five in the division.

In C division, Shockey's twin brother, Kevin, finished in 13th place. He had three third place finishes in the regatta and had eight top ten finishes. His 201 points were just 22 points out of the top ten in the division.

The B division boat of Michael Brown and Wilson Stout finished in 16th place. The pair came out firing with a win in the fourth race of the regatta, but would slip late on the first day. The boat would finish with seven top ten finishes and 254 points, just three points back of the 15th place team.

Finally, in A division, senior Bobby Noonan sailed with junior Jaclyn Finney and senior Michael Collins to a 17th place finish. The team was able to finish in the top ten in six races and tallied 258 points. They had a third place finish early in the regatta.

The co-ed team will tackle three events next weekend, including the Hoyt Trophy regatta in Rhode Island, The Webb regatta across the water in Newport News, and the MAISA Fall Open, hosted this year at the Naval Academy.
