Monarchs Host VCU And JMU This Weekend In CAA Play

NORFOLK, VA-- The Old Dominion University SoccerMonarchs (5-4-1/2-0) host VCU Friday night at 7 p.m. and James Madison Sunday afternon at 1 p.m.ODU currently is tied for first in the CAA withTowson, Drexel and William and Mary.

ODU and VCU are tied for the shutout lead in the CAA with five each.ODU sophomore keeper Evan Newton ranks third in the league with a 0.76goals against average. Freshman T. J. Beaulieu is eight in the leaguein goals with three and junior Daniel Haywood is tied for seventhwith three assists.

The Rams are 5-2-2 overall and 1-1 in the CAA. VCU is second to Towsonin the CAA in goals scored with 21. Pat Viray and Sven Meusch are tiedfor fourth in the league with four goals each. Rams goalkeeper AndrewDykstra is second in the CAA with a 0.45 goals against average.

JMU is 1-6-3 overall and 0-2 in the CAA. Kyle Morsink and CJ Sapong haveeach scored two goals for the Dukes.

ODU leads the series with VCU, 19-7-4 and have beaten the Rams two straight and four of the last five meetings. JMU leads the series withODU, 17-10-5 and have beaten ODU three straight times.

ODU ranks tenth and VCU is fourth in the latest NSCAA South Atlanticregional rankings.
