NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Soccer Monarchs (2-4-1) play returnhome to play the Spiders of the University ofRichmond (3-5) Saturday night at 7 p.m. This is thefirst meeting against the Spiders since the 2002NCAA first round.
Richmond is led by Jake Russell with two goals and two assists, followed by Delano Pierre with two goals and one assist. Goalkeeper Eric Sciocchetti has two shutouts and a 1.11 goals against average.
ODU returns to action for the first time since it's Sept. 19th matchat 16th ranked Maryland. Daniel Haywood ranks third in the CAA with threeassists while sophomore goalkeeper Evan Newton is fourth in goals againstaverage at 1.08.
ODU leads the series, 17-5-1. The Spiders last beat the Monarchs in1999, 4-0.
The Monarchs begin CAA play next weekend at home against Northeastern andHofstra.
