ST. MARY'S, Md. -- The 18th ranked Monarchs are in 8th place after six races on day one of the St. Mary's College Open. Both divisions finished among the top ten in five of the first six races to keep ODU in contention. Junior Michael Brown was skipper in A division with crew Ashley Brusso on, finishing in 8th place, while freshmen Ryan Ramming and Dixie House finished in 7th in B division.
Mikey Brown and Brusso finished as high as 6th on the day, with a total of 51 points. They are 16 points out of the top five in A division and will look to make a move on Sunday.
In B division, two ODU freshmen finished 7th with two Top Five finishes in the six races and have tallied just 43 points. They are 14 points out of the top five in B division.
