TEANECK, NJ-- Junior forward Janna Pearson (Haymarket, VA.) scored with a little more than 16 minutes remaining to lift the Old Dominion University Lady Monarchs (4-1-1) to a 2-1 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson Friday afternoon.
In the first half, the Lady Monarchs got on the board first 2:30 into the match when Elizabeth Brewster (Clifton, VA.) followed in a rebound pass from Janna Pearson. It was Brewster's third goal of the season. Later in the first half FDU tied the match 19:40 in to the match on a goal by Tonya Hipsman.
Late in the match Lisa McKenzie (Inverness, Scotland) headed a pass from Caroline Brown (Lansdale, PA.) to Janna Pearson who flicked it in for the game winner.
Pearson now has five assists and two goals this season for nine points. She isSecond on the team in scoring. ODU begins conference play next weekend when they host Delaware on Sept. 28 and Drexel on Sept. 30.
