BOLTON, MA--The Old Dominion University men's golf squad capturedThe Hartford Hawks Invitational by six strokes after finishing the 54-hole eventat 872. Penn State was second at 878. Four Monarchs, John Murphy (2nd), Stan Guerrero (3rd), Seth Norman and Jeff Long (T10) finished in the top ten.
Murphy (Wilton, CT.) the 2007 CAA champion shot a 73 today to finish at 216, four strokes behind tournament champion Keegan Bradley of St. John's. Stan Guerrero (Mexico) finished at 217, while both Seth Norman (Va.Beach-Cox HS) and Jeffrey Long (Centreville, VA.)were at 221. Eric Onesi (Bear,De.), the 2007 CAA Rookie of theYear and champion of last week's Mid Pines tournament tied for 21st after finishing with a score of 221.
The defending CAA champion Monarchs, who took second in last week's Mid Pines tournament return to action on Oct 1. at the VCU/Hermitage Shootout.
