RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL -- ODU rising sophomore sailor Katrina Williams is representing Bermuda in the 2007 Pan-American Games this week. The OMEGA Female Sailor of the Year for Bermuda will race in the Laser Radial event starting today through July 28.
Williams qualified for two national championships during her rookie season, including the Women's Singlehanded Championships in the fall. She finished sixth at that event and will look to place again in the laser radial boat in Rio de Janeiro.
Sailing begins at 1:00 pm today as the Monarch sails against 11 of the world's top female sailors from other countries including the United States Paige Railey, winner of the 2006 ISAF World Sailor of the Year.
