NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's basketball is heading to California for this year's NCAA Tournament. The Lady Monarchs, seeded seventh in the Fresno Region and winners of an NCAA record 16 straight Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) titles, will open tournament action on Saturday against 10th-seeded Florida State at Maples Pavilion on the campus of Stanford University. The game will be on Saturday, March 17th with tip off at 11:00 a.m. (PST) in front of the ESPN cameras.

The Lady Monarchs, making their 24th NCAA appearance, enter tournament action sporting a 24-8 overall mark. They are led by two-time CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player T.J. Jordan (Portmouth, Va.). Jordan is averaging 14.6 points per game and most recently reset the ODU single season record for three-pointers in a game. She currently ranks fourth in the country averaging 3.1 three-pointers a game.

Florida State meanwhile has compiled a record of 23-9, including a 10-4 mark in the ACC.

The winner of the first round match-up will advance to take on the winner of the Stanford/Idaho State contest on Monday, March 19th.

The Lady Monarchs have faced the Seminoles only one time in school history. The last meeting between the two team occured back on January 17, 1982 with Old Dominion earning a 100-65 victory in the old ODU Fieldhouse.
