BALTIMORE, Md. -- Old Dominion scored the final three goals of Sunday's afternoon match-up with UMBC as the Lady Monarchs defeated the Retrievers, 11-10.
Senior Katie Veneziale (Downingtown, Pa.) led the Lady Monarchs with four goals, while junior Kelly Kimener (Oakton, Va.) notched the game-winner on the game's final goal at the 6:03 mark of the second half.
The Lady Monarchs trailed 10-8 with 13:23 remaining in the game but would go on to score three unanswered goals, with two of the three coming from Kimener, for the win. Veneziale's fourth and final goal of the afternoon at the 11:58 mark tied the game while Kimener put away the game-winner just over four minutes later.
The win gives Old Dominion its second straight victory heading into its Wednesday's match-up with top-ranked North Carolina.
