SEBRING, FL.--Freshman Laura Holmes (Ireland) and sophomore Alexis Garduno (Sacramento, CA.)finished in the top ten to lead the Lady Monarchsto a third place tie at the Northern IllinoisSpringlake Invitational. Holmes finished with a146, just three strokes behind the individual champion. She shota 73 in the final round.
Garduno shot a 149 to tie for ninth, while Meghan Schaefer (Union,KY.) placed 16th with a 151.
As a team, the Lady Monarchs finished at 605, tied for third withFlorida Gulf Coast University. The Lady Monarchs as a team shotthe second lowest round today at 300. Methodist won the tournament,shooting a 297 today for a two-day total of 596. Lynn Universitywas second with a 599.
