NORFOLK, VA-- Old Dominion University head baseball coach Jerry Meyers, the 2006 CAA Coach of the Year announced that seniors Mike Zahm and Tyler Belcher have been named co-captains forthis year's squad as selected by their teammates.
Zahm, an outfielder earned second team All-CAA honors last year as hehit.328 with six homers and 43 runs batted in. He led the team inruns scored with 54 and tied for the team lead with five triples.
Belcher, a catcher hit .278 last season. During the summer he hit.302 with six doubles and six stolen bases and was named to the ValleyLeague All-Star squad for Winchester.
The Monarchs open the 2007 season on Feb. 9 against the University ofMaryland-Eastern Shore in a three-game series.
