Old Dominion Rolls Past UNC Wilmington, 86-70

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Brandon Johnson scored a career high 27 points to lead three players in double-digit scoring and lift Old Dominion past UNC Wilmington 86-70 on Saturday.

Arnaud Dahi scored 20 points and Valdas Vasylius added 15 for the Monarchs (14-7, 7-3 Colonial Athletic Association), who shot 76.5 percent (26-for-34) from the foul line.

Johnson scored 25 of his 27 in the second half, eclipsing his previouscareer high of 20 against VCU on Jan. 20th.

Montez Downey came off the bench to score 21 points to lead the Seahawks (4-15, 1-9), who've lost eight straight to Old Dominion. Todd Hendley had 11 rebounds.

ODU freshman center Gerald Lee tied Brandon Johnson for the team leadof eight rebounds. Senior guard Drew Williamson scored eight points,dished out seven assists.

The Seahawks led 35-31 at the half.

Trailing 59-53 with 9:40 left the second half, the Monarchs went on a stifling 25-1 spurt to secure the win. ODU's biggest lead was 18 with1:12 left at 82-64

ODU committed only nine turnovers, while the Seahawks had 16.

The Monarchs return to action on Monday as they host Georgia State at7 p.m.
