NORFOLK - Old Dominion University basketball fans will be able to listen to both the men's and women's CAA road contests live on Feb. 1, thanks to the MaxMedia radio group.
The Lady Monarch radio broadcast of their Thursday, Feb. 1 contest at James Madison, will be moved from ESPN Radio 1310 to MaxMedia FM station, Star 94.1, at 7 p.m. The men's contest at conference rival Drexel at 7:00 p.m. will be heard on ESPN Radio 1310 (AM).
"We are very grateful to MaxMedia for working with us on this conflict," says athletic director Jim Jarrett. "Both of these games are important in the conference regular season race and we are pleased we can provide our fans the ability to hear them live. "
The men's game with Drexel was originally scheduled for Jan. 31 but was moved to accommodate ESPNU, which will also air the game. The Monarchs defeated Drexel in an earlier match at the Constant Center. The Lady Monarchs and James Madison are currently undefeated in CAA play and tied for first place in the league.
"We realize how important both of these CAA games are to the Old Dominion University community," noted Tony Mercurio, program director at ESPN Radio 1310....."Having both games on live gives the fans an opportunity to listen live to the men at Drexel on ESPN Radio 1310 or the women at JMU on Star 94.1. Fans can go back and forth and follow both the Monarchs and the Lady Monarchs." Mercurio added, " I want to thank the people at ODU for working closely with us at Max Media. It is our honor to work with ODU, as we have over the past 16 basketball seasons."
