RADIO: For the 16th-straight season ESPN Radio (1310 am - Norfolk, Va.) will be broadcasting all the Lady Monarch contests. Thirteen-time sportscaster of the Year Tony Mercurio will call all the action. Former Lady Monarch and ODU Hall of Fame inductee, Adrienne Goodson and former assistant coach Susan Montgomery will join Mercurio and add color commentary at all home games at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. A monthly fee of $6.95 through the College Pass program, which also provides the audio and video broadcasts of over 100 colleges and universities, will allow fans to listen to the broadcast online at www.odusports.com.

ABOUT OLD DOMINION: The Old Dominion women's basketball team is currently on a three-game win streak after opening the CAA portion of its schedule with wins at Virginia Commonwealth and against Drexel. The Lady Monarchs improved to 16-0 in CAA openers last Thursday as they defeated Virginia Commonwealth, 81-70. A majority of those points came from junior guard T.J. Jordan who exploded for a season-high 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the floor, including a career-tying seven three-pointers. Jordan was just two treys shy of tying the school record. Senior Tish Lyons added in a season-high 14 points and dished out a career record six assists. The Old Dominion bench also managed to outscore the VCU bench, 32-7. Old Dominion then returned home on Sunday for its CAA home opener against Drexel recording a 70-45 win to improve to 15-1 in conference home openers. The foul plagued second half saw the Lady Monarchs go to the line 13 times, making 11 shots. They shot 84.6 for the half from the charity stripe and a season-high 76.0 percent for the game. Jordan once again led the Lady Monarchs in scoring pouring in a game-high 18 points which included a perfect 5-of-5 effort from the line. It was the fifth time this season the third year Lady Monarch has shot perfect from the charity stripe. The foul plagued second half saw the Lady Monarchs go to the line 13 times, making 11 shots. Old Dominion, who has struggled from the line this season, shot 84.6 percent in the second half from the charity stripe and a season-high 76.0 percent for the game.
ABOUT GEORIGA STATE: The Georgia State Lady Panthers enter Thursday night's contest with a 9-5 overall and 1-2 CAA mark in their second season in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Lady Panthers are coming off a an 84-61 home loss to James Madison in a game that snapped their six-game win streak come to a halt. Georgia State has five Lady Panthers averaging double figure scoring. The squad is led by senior guard Kelcy Roegiers-Jensen with 14.9 points per game. The Preseason Second Team All-CAA selection is currently tied for eighth in scoring in the league. Joining Roegiers-Jensen in double figure scoring is Danyiell McKeller (11.6 ppg), Tabitha David (11.2 ppg), Marcquitta Head (10.9 ppg), and Brittany Hollins (10.0 ppg).
SERIES WITH GEORGIA STATE: Thursday's game with Georgia State will be the third meeting in the young rivalry as the Lady Monarchs became CAA members last season. Old Dominion won the first two meetings last season earning an 89-50 on February 12th in Norfolk and an 82-56 in Atlanta on Marach 4, 2006.
LAST TIME VS. GEORGIA STATE: The Old Dominion University women's basketball team closed out the 2005-06 regular season with an 82-56 victory against CAA newcomer Georgia State at GSU Arena back on March 5th, 2006. Paula Muxiri scored 20 points off the bench off 7-for-7 field goal shooting to lead four Old Dominion players in double figures. Sherida Triggs recorded 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while Lawona Davis totaled 10 points and T.J. Jordan finished with 12. Kelcey Roegiers-Jensen led Georgia State with 12 points. Marcquitta Head registered eight points and a team-high nine rebounds. Former Lady Panther Monica Thomas and Ashley Strickland each had eight points. Leading 27-23 with 6:04 left in the first half, ODU began to pull away as Muxiri capped a 7-0 run with a layup for 34-23 advantage. The Lady Monarchs held a 41-32 advantage heading into halftime. Old Dominion continued to roll in the second half exploding to take a 15-point lead, 49-34, in the second half's opening three minutes. Roegiers-Jensen pulled State to within 12, but costly turnovers led to six straight points for the Lady Monarchs, who led 60-39 with 13:03 remaining. Old Dominion posted its largest lead of the game, 27 points, on two occasions in the final five minutes of the second period. After committing a season-low 10 miscues in their previous game against VCU, Georgia State made 27 turnovers that led to 24 points for Old Dominion. ODU shot 53 percent for the game, including 42 percent from beyond the arc, and 79 percent from the foul line.

JORDAN NAMED CAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Junior guard T.J. Jordan averaged 21.5 points per game last week as she led the Lady Monarchs to their first two conference victories of the season. The third year Lady Monarch poured in a season-high 25 points against Virginia Commonwealth in ODU's CAA opener last Thursday. It was the fourth time this season she has scored 20 or more points in a game. She also shot a blistering 56.3 percent (9-of-16) from the floor, including a career-tying seven three-pointers. She was just two treys shy of tying the school record. Jordan followed with a game-high 18 points in the win over Drexel last Sunday in ODU's first home CAA win of the 2006-07 season. Against the Dragons she shot a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line, the fifth time Jordan has gone perfect from the charity stripe.

UP NEXT:The Lady Monarchs will close out its three-game homestand hosting the Hofstra Pride on Sunday. The Pride are currently one of three CAA times receiving votes in this week's poll. Hofstra will travel to Drexel on Thursday night before coming to Norfolk for Sunday's showdown. The Pride enter the week with a 12-2 overall and 2-1 CAA mark just recently having its school record 10-game win streak snapped with a 69-67 setback at Delaware. The game will also be Big Blue's Birthday.
