BRISTOL, RI -- Sailing conditions did not cooperate on the third day of the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Singlehanded Championships. All races were cancelled for the third day and results as of Day Two were finalized.

Freshman Katrina Williams of the Lady Monarch sailing team looked poised to make a run at the title going into the final day. Williams was just 27 points behind with as many as 5 heats possible on Sunday. However, with insufficient wind, only 11 races were tallied and after Day Two Williams finished in 6th place.

The freshman was joined by fellow Lady Monarch Cara DiSanti who is trying to cap a career that already includes many national title appearances. DiSanti finished 16th overall, but had a second place finish and three top ten heats.

ODU's women gave the Monarchs a chance at its 16th sailing national championship. That best shot through two days was Williams. She finished out of the top 10 in just three heats and won the first heat on day two. She also notched two second's and a fifth place effort in the first two days.

Old Dominion will finish out its fall schedule with its co-ed dinghy berth to the Atlantic Coast Championships on November 11-12.
