SUFFOLK, VA--Old Dominion University senior Ashley Davis (Ontario, Canada) shot a 74 today to win the Lady Monarch Invitational by two strokes. ODUAnd Elon tied for first, both at 628 to share the tournament title played at NansemondRiver Golf Club.
Coming into the final round Davis was two strokes behind Samantha Widner of Elon. Davis carded a 74 to finish at 152 for the tournament. Lady Monarch sophomoreAlexis Garduno tied for second with LIU's Natalie Desjardins at 154. Garduno shot a76 today. Junior Meghan Schaefer finished at 160 to tie for eighth giving the Lady Monarchs three players in the top 10.
ODU's Garduno led the tournament in par 4 scoring at 4.06 with Davis in secondat 4.11. Garduno led the tournament with five birdies, while Davis led with 26 pars. As a team, ODU led the tournament in par 4 scoring at 4.46 and birdies with 14. Elon ledin pars with 103.
