Bristol, RI - Two Lady Monarch sailors are competing for a national title this weekend. Senior Cara DiSanti and freshman Katrina Williams seek ODU's 16th national title in sailing just two years after Anna Tunnicliffe won the event for the third straight year.
DiSanti sailed well enough for two top 10 races including a second place effort in the second race of the day. DiSanti finished in 14th with 53 points. Williams also had a second place finish but has paced DiSanti with a third top ten finish. She finished the first day in 8th with a tally of 44 points.
The leaders are Allison Blecher of the College of Charleston and Charlotte Hill of Navy with 27 points. The shifty conditions only allowed for five races to be held today. With two more days of competition remaining all sailors still have a legitimate chance at the title.
