Duke Scores 89-40 Victory Over Old Dominion

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -Abby Waner scored 16 points and Carrem Gay added 13 to help No. 5 Duke rout Old Dominion 89-40 on Wednesday night.

Joy Cheek had 12 points, Keturah Jackson 11 and Alison Bales 10 for Duke (6-0).

Gay was 6-for-6 from the field as Duke had its best shooting night of the season, making 59 percent from the field (36-for-61).

Tish Lyons had 11 points to lead Old Dominion (2-3).

T.J. Jordan, who was ODU's leading scorer at 15 points, was held to six points.

Duke led 43-11 at halftime, then hit 17 of 25 shots in the second half. The Blue Devils forced 30 turnovers and scored 56 points in the paint, mostly on breakaway layups.

Old Dominion went 10:25 without a field goal in the first half.

Gay left the court briefly after suffering a muscle spasm and taking a tumble at the start of the second half. She returned within 10 minutes.
