After a dominating performance in the intersquad Brown went into Purdue and wrestled to a 7-5 overtime victory. Just two days later at the Michigan State Open Brown grappled his way to the championship bout against nationally ranked Edinboro senior Matt Hill. Hill eliminated Brown 5-2, but he has garnered national attention already and is ranked 20th in the Amateur Wrestling News poll.
