No. 20 ODU & VCU Postponed and Rescheduled

NORFOLK, VA--NORFOLK, VA--The Old Dominion-Virginia Commonwealthmen's and women's soccer matches scheduled for tonight have beenpostponed due to inclement weather. They have both been rescheduledfor Tuesday night, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.

The ODU Lady Monarchs (11-1/3-1)will host CAA co-leader VCU Tuesday night at ODU at 7 p.m., while the #20 ranked Monarchs (8-2/3-1) will travel to VCU Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Sports Backers Stadium.

Both ODU and JMU are tied for third in the CAA.

ODU ranks 11th by COLLEGE SOCCER NEWS, 14th by SOCCER TIMES,16 by SOCCER AMERICA and 20 by the coaches NSCAA/adidas poll.JMU was 21st in the coaches poll last week.

Senior Edson Elcock (Brooklyn, NY.) earned his second nationalhonor in a week. He was named to SOCCER TIMES' Honor Roll. Lastweek, he was selected by COLLEGE SOCCER NEWS National team ofthe week.

ODU and JMU are 1-2 in the CAA, in points, goals scored and goals per game. JMU's Kurt Morsink leads the CAA with nine goals and six assistsfor 24 points, followed by ODU's Elcock with 18 total points. Morsinkis tied for the CAA lead in assists with six.

Evan Newton is second in the CAA with five shutouts, while JMU'skeeper Kevin Trapp is tied for third with three.
