Street And Smith Lists Old Dominion At No. 18

NORFOLK, Va. -- Street and Smith Magazine has listed the Old Dominion women's basketball team at No. 18 in its in their annual College Basketball Yearbook which went on sale on Oct. 1.

The Old Dominion women's basketball team returns four starters and nine letterwinners from last year's 22-9 team that captured its 15th straight Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title and reached the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Among the returnees include CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and Second Team All-CAA honoree junior guard T.J. Jordan and Second Team All-CAA member senior forward Sherida Triggs (Norcross, Ga.).

Included on this year's schedule are four teams also appearing in Street and Smith's list incluing No. 5 Tennessee, No. 7 Duke, No. 14 Rutgers, and No. 20 Virginia.

Head coach Wendy Larry enters the season holding a 497-182 overall record needing three wins to become the 23rd active and 29th overall Division I coach to reach the half century mark in victories. Currently Mississippi State's Sharon Fanning enters the 2006-07 season with 499 wins followed by Larry's 497 victories.
