NORFOLK, VA--Jenna Pearson scored with a little over 20 minutesRemaining to lift the Lady Monarchs to a 1-0 CAA victory over Georgia StateSunday afternoon. ODU is now 15-3 overall and 7-3 in the CAA, while GeorgiaState drops to 5-11-3 overall and 2-7-1 in the CAA.
After a scoreless first half where GSU outshot ODU, 11-7 the LadyMonarchs scored as Katie Watson fed Pearson on a break and she hit it in fromAbout 10 yards away. That was Pearson's fifth goal of the season and fourthAssist of the season for Watson, ODU's leading scorer. Pearson got thegame winner against George Mason a week ago giving her two in the lastfour matches.
Lauren Tupman picked up the shutout, her seventh of the season. Shemade seven saves on the day. ODU closes out the regular season on Friday at 18th ranked William and Mary.
