TOWSON, Md. - Freshman Brittney Kortz (Tabb H.S./Yorktown, Va.) scored the only goal of the game in the 41st minute to lead Old Dominion University (14-2-0, 6-2-0) to a 1-0 victory over Towson University (5-9-1, 1-7-0) in a Colonial Athletic Association game at the Tigers' Towson Center Field on Sunday afternoon. It was the Monarchs' sixth win in their last seven games, and the 14 wins is a new ODU single season record.

Kortz tallied the game-winning goal at the 41:00 mark when she collected a loose ball in the box and scored from 10 yards out into the lower left corner of the goal. It was the first goal of her college career. Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Tupman (Kellam H.S./Virginia Beach, Va.) made eight saves to record her sixth shutout of the season. It was Old Dominion's ninth shutout in 16 games this season whichis also a new ODU single season mark.

Junior goalkeeper Brandi Daniels (Harborfields H.S./Huntington, N.Y.) recorded eight saves for Towson, which was outshot by an 18-13 margin.

The Lady Monarchs travel to UNCW on Friday night, then return home for theirfinal home match on Sunday, Oct. 22 against Georgia State.
