HEMPSTEAD, NY - Hofstra (5-3-1/2-1-1) senior forward Michael Todd scored two goals, including the game winner with less than eight minutes left to lift the Pride toa 2-1 CAA victory over Old Dominion (8-2/3-1) Sunday afternoon, in a rematch of thelast two CAA Championship games. The loss ended ODU's eight-game winning streak.

ODU ranked seventh by College Soccer News and 12th by Soccer American,Soccer Times and NSCAA/adidas.

Todd put Hofstra on top with a goal early in the second half with an assist fromConstantinos Christoudias. The Monarchs game back as senior forward Edson Elcock(Brooklyn, NY), the CAA Player of the Week got around the Hofstra defense down theleft sideline. He then chipped a cross from the near corner into the middle where seniorforward Zachary Kinney (Portland, TX.) headed it in from about six yards to tie the match.

The game-winning goal was set up after an ODU foul. Chris Cox pass hit Toddon the rightside of the box where he pushed it in to make it 2-1. ODU outshot Hofstra,16-12 as Evan Newton (Virginia Beach, VA.) came up with four saves. ODU returnsto action next weekend when they travel to VCU on Friday night at 7 p.m., then tonationally ranked James Madison on Sunday at 2 p.m.
