NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion University freshman forward Ambane Emmanuel (Yaounde, Cameroon) has been named Rookie of the Week by theColonial Athletic Association.
Emmanuel scored two goals in ODU's 4-3 victory over Harvard in theRhode Island Soccer Classic last weekend. His second goal of the night was the game winner with 1:30 left in the match.
The Monarchs (2-1) travel to unbeaten Elon (4-0) Wednesday afternoon at4 p.m. The Phoenix have scored 14 goals in four matches, including wins overDavidson and Charlotte. Freshman Nick Aparicio was named to COLLEGE SOCCERNEWS National Player of the Week squad. Steven Kinney leads Elon with threeGoals. Last year, ODU defeated Elon, 4-3 in Norfolk.
