BOSTON, MA- CAA Player of the Week Edson Elcock (Brooklyn, NY.) scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the Monarchs of Old Dominion (8-1/3-0) to a 2-1CAA victory over Northeastern Friday evening. ODU ranks nationally seventh by College Soccer News, and 12th in Soccer America, Soccer Times and NSCAA/adidas.

Zack Kinney (Portland, TX.)scored the Monarchs first goal about four minutes into the match onassists from Elcock and Gregg Mottinger (Carrollton, TX.). With 28 minutes left in the first half Jared Kent passed to Elcock who headed the shot in to give ODU a 2-1 halftime lead. Withless than five minutes left in the match Alexander Volk scored for Northeastern on anassist from Matt Handy.

ODU outshot NU, 20-9 as freshman keeper Evan Newton (Virginia Beach, Va.)came up with four saves. ODU travels to Hofstra in a rematch of the last two CAA finalsSunday at 2 p.m.
