PINEHURST, NC--The Monarchs of Old Dominion shot a 286 in the final roundto tie Wichita State for second at 849, and finish two strokes behind the University of Wisconsin (847) at the Mid Pines Intercollegiate. Freshman Eric Onesi (Bear, DE.) tied for fourth, sophomores Matt Watson (Chesapeake, VA.) and Stan Guerrero (Tijuana, Mexico) finished tied for tenth.
Ryan Spears of Wichita State won the individual crown with a 67 on the final dayfor a 54 hole score of 205. ODU's Onesi shot a 70 to finish at 209, while Guerrero andWatson finished at 214. Red-shirt freshman Matthew Rendell (Reading, England) shot a 71 to end up tied for 18th at 216 and freshman Brandon Detweiler(Akron, PA.) shot a 73 today to finish at 219 for 31st.
ODU returns to action on Sept. 18-19 at the Raines Intercollegiate in Florence,SC.
