LARAMIE, WY--Katie Watson's (Woodbridge, VA.) goal with eightminutes left in the second overtime period lifted the Lady Monarchs of OldDominion (6-0) to a 1-0 victory over the University of Wyoming (1-4-1) Sundayafternoon.
The 6-0 start is the best in school history and one victory shy of theteam's longest winning streak of seven which was set last year. The 1998 teamwon their first five matches.
After 102-plus minutes of play, Heather Vaughan (Virginia Beach, Va.) gathered a loose ball and fed Watson for the game winner. Watson is now tied with ShavonKnight (Waldorf, MD.) for the team lead in goals (eight) and points (18).
Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Tupman had three saves on the day andpicked up her third straight shutout and fourth complete shutout of the season. Shealso shares one shutout with teammate Colby Owen (Virginia Beach, VA.).
ODU returns home this weekend to play Campbell at 7 p.m.
