NORFOLK, Va. -- Field hockey's Katie Ueberroth (Stephens, Pa.) was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week for the week ending August 27th.
The freshman midfielder came off the Lady Monarch bench over the weekend helping ODU to a 3-1 victory over #7 Penn State and a 6-1 win over Ohio with two goals and an assist. She tallied ODU's third and final goal against the Nittany Lions and then followed by assisting Sami McLenegan's (Middletown, Pa.) game-winner in Sunday's win over Ohio and scoring the Lady Monarchs' sixth and final goal of the game.
The Lady Monarch field hockey team continues on the road next weekend. Old Dominion meets defending national champion and No. 1 Maryland on Saturday in a rematch of the 2005 NCAA semifinals on Saturday, September 2nd, in College Park, Maryland. The weekend continues as the Lady Monarchs travel to Charlottesville to take on No. 19 Virginia on Sunday, September 3rd.
