PISA, Italy -- The Lady Monarch Women's basketball team made it 2-0 on its overseas trip as they defeated Polar Morh of Pisa, Italy, 96-37.
Senior Sherida Triggs (Norcross, Ga.) led all Lady Monarch scorers with 20, including 12 second half points. She also collected 13 rebounds for the double-double performance.
Also netting double figures in the ODU win was junior Tay Ransburg (Kansas City, Mo.) with 12, and sophomore Jazzmin Walters (Norfolk, Va.), senior Tish Lyons (Newport News, Va.), and junior T.J. Jordan (Portsmouth, Va.) with 10 points each.
Ransburg nearly captured her second double-double of the trip hauling in nine boards. Jordan also recorded eight in the victory.
Old Dominion led 34-12 after one quarter of play. At the half, it was the Lady Monarchs holding a 53-18 advantage. After three quarters of action, Old Dominion was up 76-30.
Starting line-up consisted of Ransburg, Lyons, Triggs, Walters, and junior Shahida Williams (Newark, N.J.). The same group also started the second half.
Tomorrow the Lady Monarchs will depart for Venice, Italy. Their next game and third of the trip will take place on Monday.
