Monarchs Open Season Friday With Three-Game Series Against UMES

NORFOLK, VA-- The pairings are set for the 2006 CAA Baseball Championship,which will be held May 24-27 at Brooks Field in Wilmington, NC.

The Monarchs of ODU (39-15) will be the number two seed and will take onfifth seed and host UNC Wilmington on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

In Wednesday's opening game at noon, top-seeded James Madison will meetNo. 6 Georgia State. At 3:30, No. 3 Northeastern will play No. 4 VCU,followed by the ODU-UNCW game.

On Thursday, the JMU/GSU loser faces the ODU/UNCW loser at noon, followedby the JMU/GSU winner vs. the NU/VCU loster at 3:30. At 7 p.m. the ODU/UNCW winner meets the NU/VCU winner.

Games on Friday will be at noon, 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The title game isscheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday. The winner of thedouble-elemination tournament earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Ticket prices are $20 for a tournament pass and $10 fora day pass. For youth (6-12 yrs), tickets are $12 for a tournament passand $5 for a day pass. Tickets may be purchased by calling 910-962-3233.
