ODU Hosts No. 7/9 Virginia Tuesday Night at 6 P.M.

NORFOLK, VA--The Old Dominion Monarchs (38-12)host nationally ranked Virginia (41-11) Tuesday night at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex at 6 p.m. Virginia ranks seventh in the USA TODAY/ESPNCoaches Poll and ninth by COLLEGIATE BASEBALL and BASEBALL AMERICA.ODU will honor its seven seniors prior to the start of the game.

Virginia knocked off top ranked North Carolina in two of three gamesover the weekend. Brandon Marsh leads UVA in hitting with a .376 battingaverage, followed by Tom Hagan at .373. Brandon Guyer leads the team with50 RBI, followed by Sean Doolittle with 45.

The Cavaliers will throw Shooter Hunt (0-0) with a 3.24 ERA in 33.1innings. ODU will counter with sophomore lefthander David Wagner (0-0)with a 3.72 ERA.

ODU went 1-3 last week and fell out the top 25 for the first timesince March 27. ODU is led in hitting by Jimmy Miles who is hitting .353with a CAA leading 38 stolen bases. Dana Arrowood is at .349 with 44 RBI. Arrowood also has seven saves and a 2.27 earned run average.

The two teams met earlier in the season (Feb. 15), with ODU winning,5-1 behind the Kevin Gunter. The Monarchs are currently tied with JMU forfirst place in the CAA. ODU finishes the regular season with a three-game seriesat Towson beginning Thursday afternoon. JMU hosts UNC Wilmington this weekend.
