NEWPORT NEWS, VA. -- The Old Dominion women's tennis team fell 5-2 to #66 Virginia Tech on Wednesday afternoon at the outdoor courts at Huntington Park in Newport News. The loss drops the Lady Monarchs to 14-7 overall this season.
The Lady Monarch collected a point in doubles action and from Charleen Haarhoff at No. 2 singles. In doubles, ODU's tandem of Kerstin Endlich and Larissa Santos downed JJ Larson and Anat Elazarri for an 8-2 victory at the top spot, while at No. 2 doubles, Haarhoff and Fernanda Luiz edged Inga Beermann and Jessica Brouwer, 8-4. Haarhoff later earned the Lady Monarchs' other point with a three set, 3-6, 6-0, 6-3, victory over Elazari.
Old Dominion returns to action Thursday against East Carolina. The match will be played at Huntington Park.
