NORFOLK, VA-- Senior Nick Kenney (Toronto, CA) fired a first round 74 to lead the Old Dominion men's golf team to a tie for 6th place after one round of the William & Mary Invitational. The Monarchs scored a team total of 300 and are tied after one round with Navy. Senior Greg Sampson (Warren, RI) and freshman Matt Watson (Chesapeake, VA/Western Branch) chipped in with scores of 75 to tie for 30th.
Liberty leads by one shot over second place Maryland with a total score of 292. Will Shriver of Loyola, Josh Anderson of St. Bonaventures, and Brent Paladino of William & Mary each shot opening round 69's to take the lead individually.
