ANNAPOLIS, MD - The ODU Women's Sailors took ninth place this weekend at the Navy Spring Women's Intersectional with 190 points. Navy finished first at the event with 103 points.

In A division, ODU claimed 13th with skipper Cara DiSanti and crew Alissa Ayers sailing to 104 points. Skipper Maureen Castruccio sailed with Elyssa Albert in B division to finish 10th with 86 points.

There were 11 races completed in both A and B division, with no protests filed. Saturday the conditions saw light winds from the South at 5-7 knots before dropping in the afternoon to 3-5 knots with adverse currents. Sunday's conditions proved to be not much better as the morning's 6-8 knot breeze from the South Southwest diminished resulting in postponement by noon and eventually calling the regatta at 2:15.

The Sailing Monarchs are back in action this weekend as they travel back to Maryland to compete in the St. Mary's Women's Intersectional.
